Vishwas Law Office

A lawyer’s office typically conjures up images of red and green books, files, paperwork stacked in shelves gathering dust. But the home-basement location of VLO received a swanky makeover by Suparna Ghosh and Jensil John of Forum Architecture, converting it into clean modern pleasant office environment. The lighting design was initially based on an idea that strived to eliminate the basement-feel by creating artificial 'windows with daylight streaming in' A bio-rhythmic light source mimicking the daylight outside, carefully disguised as a window was the primary light source in each cabin. However due to functional and space constraints, this idea was replaced with ceiling mounted, adjustable, drums that washed the space with diffused 3000k light. Varying in size from 450 to 750mm dia, they form a ceiling feature in a stark deviation from the conventional 2x2 office lighting.
