The lighting in this built-to suit workspace lobby, while accentuating the architectural elements, emphasizes the lofty heights and lends itself to a softly, lit environment. The spiral staircase remains the focal point, unlit, yet standing out in contrast. The lighting design of the workplaces filled out several check boxes. Volumetric lighting with low UGR values help ensure visual comfort; indirect lighting serves to reduce con trast between task and surrounding; an extensive Lighting Management System harvests daylighting to ensure optimum energy usage while maintaining desired lighting levels, allowing also for personalized control where relevant. As per a rich and varied area programme, collab and break-out spaces provide for cre ative group work, and places to reflect and restore. With lighting integrated into the archi tecture and true to the vision for the space, the overall atmosphere breaks away from the cooler, focussed environment to provide warmth, spur casual conversations and create a sense of community. Together, interior elements and lighting thought come together to have the greatest impact on workplace effectiveness and experience.
