This experience centre for Jaquar Lighting is a space that came with an open program and an open brief but a very precise agenda. It must be representative of a pivotal point in the journey of the brand from bath to light, and from creators of dazzling chandeliers to expert producers of architectural lighting. Since its launch in September of 2022, it has received much adulation from the design fraternity. The experience is designed around the 3 constructs of space, time & light - as you move around, the experience of the space changes every few moments defined by the changing light-tecture. The different layers come together to create an experience that is unpretentious, unexpected, fluid in form and program, and dignified yet engaging. The heart of the space, both physically and philosophically, holds the ‘Tool Room’. It is a space designed for tests and trials and lighting experiments to evaluate light and light quality. Outside, around it, the setting itself is a showcase of lighting capability and possibilities. The emphasis is on experience, rather than product; on the journey rather than the program. From the interior architecture to lighting to related artworks and the curated visitor journey and script, the entire experience of the Luxstudio by Jaquar is conceived by Design Matrix.
