For us, such spaces must not only perform but also come alive with aesthetic and vi sual quality, all while balancing engineering and sustainability. The design concept and the “big idea” cannot come at the cost of speed or simplicity of execution. There is, of course, a world of equipment available to achieve lighting levels and create form, drama, and identity - but in our context, where economy and scale press hard, our designs must fulfil form, function, and more. Thus, speed, economy, and convenience drove our pro cess, but we were equally intent on avoiding solutions that were efficient yet uninspired. Every design attempt became a single module, reproduced countless times, until it began to form something larger - something visually legible and acceptable. Our goal was clarity, speed, and energy. And although the commission was for a single store, we aimed to give the client a modular solution that could address their unique challenges and be recomposed, store after store, to create a bespoke identity each time. We found inspiration in the classic seven-segment display, whose genius lies in econo my: seven simple strokes, endlessly recomposed to create meaning. Our ceiling works in much the same spirit. We began with a luminous module — ordinary, repeatable, almost banal. Yet when arranged deftly, these modules transcend their utility. Shifting layouts, seasonal resets, new product launches — the system adapts without losing clarity. Like the digital display, the ceiling is at once systematic and expressive. It speaks not only of efficiency and illuminance but also of adaptability and memory. Each store may be recomposed anew as a luminous parquet.
