Intersekt Showroom by Marmo

From Gucci to Fendi, if there is one learning that unites them all, it is that the retail experience is as important as the product itself. Intersekt is an Avant Garde business idea and retail venture. And therefore needed a space befitting it and its discerning customers. Thirty thousand square feet of carefully curated tile concepts depend hugely on the absolute perfect lighting if one is to appreciate, judge, compare and decide on the right tile. Ensuring that texture is enhanced and colors show up correctly made up the science behind the artful lighting of the space. Tiny, tiny fixtures that illuminate the display without giving themselves away describe the lighting install. Powerful optics, high CRI and high efficacy light fixtures enable high performance and energy efficiency. And the same philosophy of efficiency and high performance this time in an outdoor environment is carried through in the building facade that features a triangulated design brought to life by integrated warm lighting. The ceramics show Design Matrix came on board the project after much of the interior lighting had already been installed. It took several months of tearing down, careful redesign, numerous mock-ups, re-wiring, bringing in lighting control system, installation, aiming and commissioning to complete the redesign. Needless to say that transformation was radical, intense and left the architect (Kapil Agarwal, Spaces Architects@ka), the owners and board of directors right down to the electrical team at site in awe of the huge difference correct lighting can make in the perception and experience of a space.
